God’s kindness is always present in the life of the Christian. His kindness is there in the trials and in the plenty, and last week his kindness was evident in the plenty. Within one week $1,000 dollars came in for our home study fee, giving us the full amount to move forward in this next step. Through lots of t-shirt sales, straight up generosity of family and friends and a mortgage refinance we were able to get the $3,000 needed in just over four weeks.
Our friend, Paul Gilmer, designed the t-shirt for us. We have received great feedback from people who love them. If you have not bought one you can still help us with future costs by going to dojusticelovemercy.bigcartel.com. Also, check out Paul’s work at his Facebook page. If you have any graphic arts needs we would love to have you give him business.
Our adoption orientation with our agency is this Saturday. The adoption waters in the Democratic Republic of Congo are cold and tumultuous right now. Corruption within the country has caused some agencies to discontinue their programs there. Some families have had child placements only to find that the child has disappeared. Bribery is the only way, they are told, that they will find their child again. The love of money is corrupting a righteous cause. We are asking God for wisdom in our decision making and for our adoption agency as we continue to look to adopt from the Congo. We would love to have your prayers as well.
