Goma, Congo

I have been thoroughly impressed with Johanna’s prowess in tackling adoption paperwork and educating herself about adoption from the DRC. Facebook groups, blogs, news stories, filling out page after page of documentation is already becoming her life. Last night she read to me a story out of Goma, Congo where the M23 rebel group is advancing against the government. A result of this is the displacement of many children and the halt of some orphans being adopted by waiting families in the United States. We prayed for these children, for our child someday, and for the stop of this injustice and violence.

I came across this picture today from The Daily Beast’s website. A picture of displaced children in Goma, reflected in a pool of water from the previous day’s rain.
